Capsule Geology

The area of the Henric occurrence is underlain by Triassic rock of the Nicola Group.

In 1980, a sample was reported to have been collected from a mineralized quartz vein in a highway rock quarry south of the Highway 26 Cottonwood River Bridge. This sample was reported to have assayed 48.69 grams per tonne (1.42 oz/ton) gold and 324.65 grams per tonne (9.44 oz/ton). The Department of Highways filled in the pit a few days after sampling occurred following the completion of the bridge.

In 1986-87, 10 reverse circulation holes were drilled on the property on the west bank of the Cottonwood River. The drill report describing this program was not published but parts were quoted in later assessment reports; drill logs and assay sheets from the 1986 drill program are not available. The quoted 1986 report states that the holes intersected volcanic rocks containing zones of intense silicification, argillic alteration and pyrite mineralization. The holes spotted on the old highways pit south of the Cottonwood River bridge were reported to have encountered altered dark grey, green and black volcanic rocks and argillites with sulphide rich zones and zones of stockwork chalcedonic quartz veining. Visible gold was reportedly observed within some drill cuttings of the 10 reverse circulation holes completed on the property in 1986.

In 1987, a drill program on the Henric property by 07 Precious Metals Inc attempted to reproduce the results of the 1986 drilling but failed to do so. The program consisted of 152 metres in 3 NQ holes. A VLF-EM survey was completed in October 1987. In 1988, 07 Precious Metals Inc collected 17 rock samples and 4 heavy mineral samples on the Henric property.

In 2006 the property was optioned by Richfield Ventures Corp from Mr. Mel Zeiler. A soil survey found that the 1986-1987 reverse circulation drill holes and trenches occurred at a distance from gold-in-soil highs.
